OFFICIAL RELEASE — DJ WALTRACK
DJ Waltrack, stage name of Walter David, is a DJ and producer from São Paulo, Brazil, who began his musical journey in the mid-to-late 1980s during the emergence and consolidation of the city’s underground scene.
His first contact with music came through rock, where he was deeply influenced by bands such as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Ramones, Iron Maiden, and Kiss. The track *Stairway to Heaven* by Led Zeppelin marked the beginning of his deep connection with music and his strong appreciation for sound and structure.
At a young age, he began following iconic São Paulo radio stations such as Jovem Pan, Transamérica, Band FM, Rádio Cidade, Manchete, Pool FM, USP FM, and Alpha FM, developing a strong relationship with radio culture and broadcasting.
His involvement in the underground scene grew through attendance at legendary nightlife venues such as Contra-Mão, Toco Dance Club, Overnight, and Sound Factory Penha. DJ Ricardo Guedes played a key role in his artistic development and became one of his main influences.
Throughout his career, he built a versatile artistic identity, moving fluidly across multiple styles within electronic music and urban culture while remaining rooted in underground aesthetics.
Among his most important projects are Diffusion Project, formed alongside Fernando Rafih and Translate, the radio show Sem Limites, created with DJ Gordelax, as well as Dstroy Crew, Os Máfias do Bass, Da Lata, and Riscos e Efeitos. He has also contributed to influential independent platforms such as FuseWebRadio and E-Music Station, helping to develop and support underground electronic music culture.
The radio show **Sem Limites**, created by DJ Waltrack and DJ Gordelax, originated on the UK-based station **KrisisDnB Online (UK)** as a platform dedicated to Drum and Bass culture and its underground expressions. The project later transitioned into the Brazilian scene through **FuseWebRadio** and **E-Music Station**, strengthening its presence within independent electronic broadcasting.
One of the most defining moments of his career was the recognition of the Diffusion Project within the Drum and Bass scene, particularly when DJ Marky performed the remix of *O Namorado da Viúva* by Jorge Ben during his iconic night at the former Lov.e Club in São Paulo. This moment is widely regarded as a milestone in both his artistic journey and the visibility of the project within Brazilian electronic music culture.
DJ Waltrack remains active in the scene, continuing to build a career spanning decades within music and underground culture.
